Laura Mathieson, a registered nurse since 2001, created A & M Acupuncture & Aesthetics because of a belief in a holistic approach to health. Laura’s journey has been driven by a deep passion for health promotion, and crafting a welcoming space where your health is always the top priority.
After joining the British Academy of Western Medical Acupuncture (BAWMA) in 2005, Laura has honed her expertise in acupuncture, enhancing her ability to deliver compassionate and effective treatments. Our focus extends beyond symptom relief; we aim to foster overall well-being, offering personalised treatment plans tailored to each individual's health goals and needs. We combine evidence-based practices with holistic principles, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of our clients' health conditions.

What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is the insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body; it has been practiced for over 2000 years as a method of balancing the body and restoring health.
Western Acupuncture, a modified version of traditional Chinese Acupuncture however is based on a medical diagnosis. Trigger point therapy targeting areas of injury and battlefield acupuncture to reduce pain also practiced.

WHAT IS CRYOTHERAPY?
Cryotherapy uses a medical grade pen at extremely cold temperatures to freeze any unwanted skin lesion including skin tags, warts, keratosis, benign moles, sun damage spots and cherry angioma’s.
If there is any lesion suspected to be cancerous we will refer back to our GP or you can use the Map My Mole service in which a consultant dermatologist will review and advise within 24 hours
